iCubed Project Personnel

A dedicated group of UMBC faculty and staff guides the iCubed project. For more information about the project, contact icubed@umbc.edu.

Philip Rous, Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs leads the project as the Principal Investigator of the iCubed Project.

Patrice McDermott, Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs serves as the lead co-PI. Dr. McDermott was the lead co-PI for the NSF-funded ADVANCE institutional transformation grant.

William LaCourse, Dean of the College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences, serves as a co-PI. Dr. LaCourse, who guides the HHMI NEXUS at UMBC, co-chairs the Internal Advisory Board (IAB) with Dr. Rous.

Janet Rutledge, Dean of the Graduate School and Vice Provost for Graduate Education, serves as a co-PI. Dr. Rutledge is the lead co-PI for PROMISE: Maryland’s AGEP and is a co-PI on the NSF Bridge to the Doctorate and ADVANCE grants.

Marvin Mandell, Professor of Public Policy, serves as a co-PI. Dr. Mandell, who has extensive knowledge and experience in evaluating programs and policies in education, leads the evaluation team.

Ken Maton,  Professor of Psychology at UMBC, serves on the Leadership Team and is working on the evaluation team to help assess the intervention techniques.

Dave Marcotte, Professor of Public Policy at UMBC, serves on the Leadership Team and is working on the evaluation team to help assess the intervention techniques.

Lisa Dickson, Associate Professor of Economics at UMBC, serves on the Leadership Team and is working on the evaluation team to help assess the intervention techniques.

Kathy Lee Sutphin, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences, serves as the iCubed Project Director.

Michelle Bulger, Advising Coordinator in the College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences, serves as the iCubed Project Staff Mentor.

Tashauna Felix served as the iCubed Project Coordinator from 2011 to 2014 and supported the Study Group and Faculty Mentoring Interventions.

Michael Dillon, Director of Institutional Research at UMBC, serves on the Leadership Team.

Connie Pierson, Assistant Director of Institutional Research at UMBC, serves on the Leadership Team.

Anne Kellogg, Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Public Policy, is supporting the work of the evaluation team.
